The Enneagram of Personality for Therapists
diagram8 March 2014

What is Your
Personality Type?

This one-day workshop is an exciting and imaginative way for people to discover their Enneagram personality type and gain understanding of the people in their lives.

The Enneagram is perfect for the personal development of individuals; it helps to understand and appreciate their differences. It is a powerful model used in business teams to help people work together better. For therapists, it offers insights into the worldview of clients and the kind of language and interventions that will be most helpful to them.

The Enneagram is a precise and accurate model that describes nine different personality types and their relationships with one another. Each of the nine types has a fundamentally different view of the world, adopted in childhood as a survival strategy. The ‘type’ or false personality is a defence mechanism that, having become fixed, becomes comfortable while it blinds us to our own weaknesses and limits the range of our responses. Moreover, the Enneagram explains why and how our behaviour changes in times of stress and when emotionally secure.

This workshop was presented at international Enneagram conferences in California in 2004 and in Paris in 2006 and has been taken all over the world. Participants tell Rosemary about themselves and bring the types to life, not the other way round.

Claudio Naranjo, MD in Gestalt Therapy: The Attitude and Practice of an Atheoretical Experientialism(1993). US: Gateways Books:

“After more than 15 years of experience with proto-analysis*, I can say that it has been the single greatest influence on my practice after the inheritances of Perls and Simkin, and because I have seen my appraisal of its value confirmed in the testimony of many who learned proto-analysis with me: both therapists who felt that their work improved and non-therapists who, without intending, became good amateurs.”

*another name for the Enneagram of Personality – ‘proto’ alluding to what is basic and the word as a whole to a self-insight process into the basic structure of an individual’s personality

The fee for the day is £80; CPD Certificate for 7 hours provided on request.
